The unrivaled lyrical styling's of author, Valentinno so eloquently capture the images, words and phrases of 18th century romance in this beautiful love story. I was so caught up in the pages of this book it made me feel like I was actually in another time and place. Valentinno's writing is so unbelievably passionate it's like he possesses the DNA of every classic romantic poet all rolled up in one. I cannot highly recommend this book enough!! It is truly epic!

A Romantic's Passion the Tenth Muse is an emotional and inspiring journey of true love. The kind of love that most of us only dream about finding one day, or only see in the movies.

But this book brings hope that it does exist due to it is based on a true story about a poet and the heat of his passion for his muse.

The book is filled with remarkable romantic poems, and love letters that the author has written to his muse through the years. I especially like that Valentinno shares his thoughts about his muse in private journal entries he has published in this brilliant work of romance.

It is amazing how the author put this book together and actually shared his real life romantic experience of love with his readers. It is a wonderful tribute to his muse, and that's what I call a true romantic...a man writing an entire book about his woman to tell the entire world how much he loves her.

Exile

Heavens exile has sent me fourth, banished! Cast out from admits the stars to wander the gravel beds of the earth in black. He whom seared my saffron wings had crossed me from sainthood to a mortal breathing sinner. As darkness breathes out, telling the twelve hour to midnight.

There I found myself alone in the desolate shadows, as venomous storms of wind, and thunder turned this earth to ash; where blood shed out of lakes of fire from the watery eyes of the moons eclipse. I have never seen more evil than the pain’s and torments that hell can hold in this cursed land.

The very sight of it can only more exhibit the paintings of my Fears that brush my face. I would soon rather see what dreams await me in the cold bed of death then look upon the savage glamour of this decayed rural prison. but since time has pause with no clock to bring count to my existence;

with immortality as my former I shall count the days and sullied nights till my untimely demise. I take those faults and crimes upon that brought me to this middle realm of judicious punishment, when I once lost my good path and those righteous angels were my
judge.

But as I seek my travels I greet a dark castle standing, among the valley baring a maze of towing greens that shaped my heart with fear. There a statue structured in fleshy bone and blood, was built upon the graves of brave men who once dared to pass through natures wandering evil.

I look upon this statue of darkness for which decades it has stood, guarding a bloody stone path leading to a summit of a cliff as high as heaven, presenting a ridge, unsteady of wood and rope. With reason unexplained it set my travels forth with harm undone upon this perilous night.

And last in breath my soul turns to deaths grim face to stare-down his deep black eyes to push forward that bridge which none had ever crossed alive nor returned, and there I faced my fear no more the heart, and calm in breath.

I bare that crossing and much behold my life’s account over a devouring abyss, and escaped that bridges fatal wounds and made my way to the other side. There I approached a forest green, dark, haunting, with silence over long.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great compilation of beautiful poetry
A Romantic's Passion: The Tenth Muse

By lfostermom

I borrowed this book from a friend because she told me that I just HAD to read it. This book is compilation of poetry and photos by Valentinno, a native of Queens, NY who is a master of putting his love and passion for his muse onto paper. This book is a little hard to describe, because I don't think my words can really do it justice. It's a fairly large collection of romantic poems that are just magnificent. Romantics will eat this book up and non-romantics may be romantics after reading this. The easiest way for me to describe this book is to simply say that it makes me want a man to love me half as much as Valentinno loves his muse.

I Bid You Farewell

My Lady, I have seen sweet sorrow encounter your sad eyes,
laboring tears, and pain unmoved that scath my bleeding
breast. Love proved fatal long the utterance of my woes,
heaving in grief to my heart's dismay.

When our lips met under loves far veil that sweet kiss once
fair is now dark and dread. I awaken from a tearful rest that scorns
my pale cheek. As some tender words essayed frame my heart,
but these words versed shall make me weep.

Sweet thieves have stolen the light from your bright eyes now loves
darkest tyrant beholds your gaze. I bid you farewell, and let the heart
for dear love yield. For reminiscing will only bleed our eyes more.

Cranberry Stuffed Turkey Breasts

If you don't want to make an entire turkey for holiday dinner on Thanksgiving this is a great recipe that is sure to be a big hit on the taste buds.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, and God bless!

Makes 10 servings

1 (12 ounce) package herb-seasoned bread stuffing mix

2 skinless boneless turkey breasts

1 cup chopped pecans

2 (8 ounce) packages dried, sweetened cranberries

2 tablespoons olive oil

6 lettuce leaves

1/2 cup pecan halves

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Prepare stuffing mix according to package directions. Set aside to cool.
  2. With a sharp knife, butterfly breasts open to lay flat. Place each breast between two sheets of waxed paper, and flatten with a mallet. Spread the prepared stuffing to within 1/4 inch of the edge of each breast. Sprinkle each one with chopped pecans and dried cranberries, reserving some of the cranberries for garnish. Roll up tightly in a jellyroll style, starting with the long end. Tuck in ends, and tie in sections with string, about 4 sections around the middle and one running the length of the roll to secure the ends.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully brown rolls on all sides.
  4. Place skillet in oven, uncovered. Bake in a preheated 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) oven for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature is at 170 degrees F (78 degrees C) when taken with a meat thermometer. Do not let these get overly dry.
  5. Allow rolls to set for 15 minutes before removing string, and slicing into 1/2 to 3/4 inch circles. Leave one roll whole, and slice the other for presentation. Stuffing will be spiraled into meat. Present on your prettiest platter on a bed of curly lettuce, and garnish by sprinkling with the remaining 1/2 cup pecan halves and the reserved dried cranberries.

5.0 out of 5 stars I highly recommend A Romantic's Passion
By
Williams
This review is from: A Romantic's Passion: The Tenth Muse (Kindle Edition)
A friend of mine recommended this book to me, but of course I wanted to see what other people had to say about it at first before I purchased it at the local book store. I was really impressed that almost every review compared Valentinno's works to either Lord Byron or John Keats; as well as the author having celebrity reviews as well. When I actually got to read the book I was swept away by pages of inimitable prose poems and love letters. This is more than just a love story about a man's passion and devotion to his muse. She really is symbolic in this collection as an icon of love. Valentinno's descriptions and imagery is flawless, and he really digs in deep when he writes. You can tell that he really pulls at the hearts strings and bares his soul on paper. This is one of the most beautifully written works of romance I have read in a long time. I highly recommend A Romantic's Passion as well. Buy it, read it, you'll love it!!

The Anatomy Of A Love Letter

. Thursday, November 8, 2012
0 comments

Most letters have the following basic format: a date, a greeting, a body, a closing, a signature and optionally, a postscript (PS).

Date

Put a date on all your letters. That date ties the letter to a specific time in your life and relationship. You’ll be glad you did, especially when you’re digging through those old letters 25 years from now.

Greeting

Your greeting should match the context of your letter and maybe even more importantly – your personality. For example, if you’re writing about her beauty (context = “beauty”) then you might greet her as “My beautiful Girl.” Get the idea? But make sure that your greeting is natural. When you write your love letter, you must not transform into some other person. The key is to be you. Just greet her in your letter the way you would greet her in person. Then it won’t seem fake, stuffy or forced.

Body

The body of your love letter can be as short as one paragraph or as long as 10 or more pages, depending on what you have to say, of course. There are no rules on the length. That is all up to you.

Closing

Your closing should pull all your ideas together into a summary or closing statement. It can be anywhere from a short sentence to a paragraph.

Signature

Your signature identifies your mood (e.g. “Joyfully yours”), or your feelings (e.g. “Missing you”), or your emotions (e.g. “Deeply in love”), or your expectations (e.g. “See you soon”), or whatever wraps up your message.

Postscript

Your postscript (PS), which is optional, goes last. It adds one or more thoughts that you may want to either highlight from the body of your message or add as an unrelated note. This is a good place to say, “Don’t forget about …” or “By the way …”

No Rules

Now this is the traditional format of a letter. But you are obviously free to write in any format you wish. As for me, many times I’ll write the love letter body in a classical format" and I’ll add a classic greeting, closing and signature afterwards and then simply put it into an envelope.

Readers All Over the World

. Thursday, November 1, 2012

By Lisa A. Fraser

Readers all over the world – particularly Europe – know him as Valentinno, the best-selling author of the book A Romantic's Passion: The Tenth Muse.

Valentinno's book, published in January by Authorhouse books, has already sold out in France and Germany. And the tale of love and inspiration, told in various volumes, has already won the hearts of many.

With rich imagery, expressions and eloquent descriptions, A Romantic's Passion tells the story of a man's torrid love affair with the woman who changed his life.

In five volumes of poems, letters, prose, extended verse and photos, Valentinno reveals an intricate web of love and devotion and doesn't hold back as he lets readers into his life with his thoughts and his own photos.

A friend of his, who happened to be a photographer, had always wanted to do something of the sort and together they decided to put together a book of prose and photos.

“I wanted to do something a little different,” he said.

A Romantic's Passion showcases Valentinno's feelings toward his great love with a provocative, uninhibited tone. He was so deeply in love that she became his muse and his life's work. The woman, who also appears in photos with Valentinno, has allowed him to feel so much, he could not resist writing a book about it.

“In one day, I experienced a love more than 10,000 men could experience in a lifetime,” he said.

A Romantic's Passion is an ode to this love, and Valentinno wants readers to feel like they too can have a love like that. Poetry, he says, is the best vehicle to showcase such intense feelings.

“Poetry has a sacred, spiritual, romantic feel when you read it,” he said. “When you read a poem, you will realize how love is a sacred union.”

The 37-year-old author who was born in Brooklyn but moved to Glendale when he was three years old, didn't start out as a poet. He was a screenwriter for many years, before deciding to go down the path of prose. But poetry was always there. At 16, he had his first poem published in a magazine.

“I remember being excited because I had written it for a girl I liked when I was younger” he said. “'I thought it would be something special too do for her.”

Valentinno always felt a connection to poetry, particularly the romantic kind. It was just the best way to express himself.

“Romantic poetry is like a different language. The word usage, the eloquence, the imagery – you can build an entire poem out of one line,” he said.

A Romantic's Passion is not Valentinno's first book. He has three others written under a different pen name. One of them became a bestseller in Europe, and his work has been translated into French, German, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese. He decided to change his pen name to Valentino after requests by readers and friends to adopt something that would match his poetry.

He has written for the Queen of England, and in less than five years he has won numerous poetry awards for his work, including the Dickinson Award.

Valentinno noted that his real-life experiences are the only muses for him. Anything from a memory of a moment to a gesture he once performed or an object could inspire him.

In turn, he hopes that his poetry can continue to inspire others. “I hope people will get a better understanding of love and romance,” he said. “I don't want to be a doctor, but I hope there's something in there that's going to help them.”

Valentinno's book can be found at Amazon.com or at Barnes & Noble.

Romantic ‘books of the courtier’ for our time

Romantic ‘books of the courtier’ for our time
by Nicole Levy,
Chronicle Contributor

The lyrical stylings of nationally acclaimed poet Valentinno of Glendale have romanced even British Queen Elizabeth II herself. The poem Valentinno composed for the queen in 2008, entitled “O’ Blessed Nightingale,” is today displayed as a personal keepsake of her majesty in Balmoral Castle. Reading the lyric, I imagined that Elizabeth had cast her regal person as that blessed nightingale for whom “the thunder…trembles, / When she beat her majestic wings in flight / Composing that choral symphony that softly serenades / The tranquil night, with that melodious theme.”

When I interviewed Valentinno, he showed me the letter the queen’s lady-in-waiting had mailed him to express her gratitude, citing the envelope stamp as proof of its authenticity. Elizabeth is truly an admirer. This is not to say that Valentinno's poetry is for all. His last two books, published in 2006 and 2007, respectively, have enjoyed a predominately female following because the passionate sentimentality that characterizes his work is “what women want. They don’t really have romance in their relationships, and I think they’re living through romantic poetry. They want commitment and they want connection,” he said, the soft inflections of his sexy voice certainly the dulcet tones of the handsome bard.

When I suggested that his poetry may be construed as a man’s guide to courting a woman with chivalry and affection, Valentinno agreed: “A lot of woman have said, ‘I wish my husband could think or write like that.’” One fan on MySpace asked Valentinno to pen a poem for his girlfriend: “I said, ‘it would be a pleasure … If you’re having a little trouble … but you have to memorize it when you say it to her,’” he told me with a grin. Valentinno, 37, berated those men of his generation who “need to learn to be more romantic, more gentle, more considerate, and stop being selfish.” ” He considerately sought my feminine affirmation. Valentinno's own personal philosophy is “that a man should explore a woman, besides even sex. He should want to know everything about her.

Valentinno believes a good poet will compel his audience to “read [his] imagery and phrases more than once ... The first or second line has to be explosive, and the reader is going to say, ‘Thank you for that visual’ … Look at Byron’s first line: ‘When she walks in beauty like the night, of cloudless climes and starry night.’ That was gripping” Although Valentinno identifies with great Romantic poets like Byron, Shelley and Keats, he chooses to write in prose-poetry form because it permits the greatest flexibility. His notions of what constitutes good poetry is believed to come from biographies of the great poets, the history of romance, the Bible, and the works of Byron and Keats.

He attended Parsons School of Design for cartoon animation at the insistence of his parents. “I started out as an artist, then a screenwriter, then I did some acting, I was a stuntman, and then I wanted to pursue other avenues,” he said, “and that was my poetry. That was my truest love.” As a stuntman, Valentinno did martial arts, lifts and car drags. Valentinno is fortunate that the works he published with an independent press are bestsellers in Europe, generating steady income. He’s been recognized with more than 60 awards in poetic and literary excellence, including the Dickinson Award, and his work has gained him entrance to the American Authors Association. He hopes to sell the rights to his third book to a major publishing company and to fund an anthology of poems by writers around the world for the benefit of African nations plagued by malaria. I certainly pay homage to this courtier.
