Book Reviews

This book is nothing less than genius! I see this wonderful ethereal quality hearkening to the romantic era. Valentinno's work reminds me of Byron with a bit of the idealism of Keats.

This kind of writing--elliptical, clear-eyed, harboring emotion-- floored me, because I'm usually so cynical about modern poetry. But Valentinno has a knack for capturing the peculiar rhythms of people in love. There's stylistic finesse to naturalism: "Does every brook carry a heart for burning love?" "In palaces of ivory that stand the corner of Eden her beauty bares wings of white wonder, her eyes are made of stars, showering her with first sight." And there's moralism minus the preachiness: "Rising above the white wonders of the clouds where the suns rays are veiled in the eyes of a lady of virtue." In articulating his passion, Valentinno probes the borders of language and memory, and the emotions he describes are instantly real and relatable, referencing everything from Elysium to Eros in a clever nod to bards before. Between heart-wrenching letters and lines of verse, the author takes hard-to-pin-down topics- namely, the subjectivity and conflict of love- and tackles them with zigzagging eloquence.

“Valentinno is a romantic in the best sense of that word. He captures the divine romance of life through his prose in a brilliant book called “A Romantic’s Passion: The Tenth Muse.” His words come across as if they were written by a 15th century monk who is high on the spiritual bliss of Holy Communion. One can feel this inner joy and “light” he projects with images from his words and phrasing -

Valentinno's poetry evokes those same sacred feelings that come from the work of other divine and mystical poets such as Radindranath Tagore, Rumi, and Paramahansa Yogananda in his book of poems called “Whispers from Eternity.”

To call him a mystic would not be a far stretch – his words certainly convey the feeling that he is reaching out beyond the material world and has escaped the illusions of this reality. If he had been born in another time or place, he could have well been friends with the likes of Blake, Shelley, Keats or Lord Byron. This is tall company but I believe that he is of that same kind of romantic DNA

His words are a perfect bridge to the feelings he is trying to convey. He is not afraid to expose his heart and soul in his poems. Truly a gifted writer and one of immense understanding of things beyond the veil of life; it is no hyperbole to say that his work is that of a young master poet! This poet is destined for greater things then just poetry. He is on his way to self-realization!

Valentinno writes poetry with an old world Romanticism that reclaims love in a revolution of the heart. Moving past Post-Modernism into a new era of the Romantic Enlightenment, he celebrates the ancient worship of the Goddess, reinventing love with a new appreciation, as all things sacred. The words fly up to the highest heaven, as if on the wings of angels in reverence of all that is freely given in perfection, within the grace of the Spirit. Valentinno's poetry burns with the Spirit of love.

From the first line I knew this poetry would be a collection of delicious words. Words to savor long after read. But to put into review what the author, Valentinno, has already done so magnificently would be an injustice, but I will try.

Laced often with spiritual uplifting undertones, this collection of romantic poetry, letters, journal entries, and images, is a must-read for the romantic in all of us. Perfect for that Valentine Day, Wedding Day, Anniversary. Perfect for simply sitting on your porch with a warm cup of tea, enjoying the day.

His poetry feels natural, not forced, and elicits images of Earth, nature, God, the Spirit, eternity, heaven. As if reading words from an old fashioned romantic story book, his poetry transcends time and lifts your spirit to a place of absolute beauty.

    "My noble Lady,
I love you with everything I revere. When I draw from your lips to commit that holy sin, it feels like the world has stopped, at that very moment in time. I cannot live without you, my lady, and for that I would give my life."
Highly recommended to the lover in us all, to your significant other, to simply adore the beauty within yourself again.

If there were just two words to describe this collection of romantic poetry and prose, then those two words would be "simply exquisite". There is nothing that I could write that would ever do the work contained between the covers of "A Romantic's Passion: The Tenth Muse" any justice whatsoever.

From the first verse, to the very last picture, I could do little except to become caught up in the magic that was created by this poet. It is no wonder that Valentinno has been compared to Byron and Keats and other great romantic poets. This is one collection that any romantic should have on hand to read and reread.

Valentinno’s Romantic poems are absolutely amazing and nothing less than heavenly. On his defining trail of love poetry it brings his muse to life before your eyes. With his passion and wholehearted romance, that reaches out to your heart and steals your breath away.

Valentinno is a genius. I am a very big fan of him. His poetry is so touching, and passionate. It has made me melt and cry and a few other emotions I thought I lost. He always paints a beautiful love story that you can share with all your loved ones. If you miss out on his poetry, you’re missing out on a masterpiece.

When I read his prose it blew me away. It took me on a magical journey into the unknown. It was so exciting for me to read. Poetry this good is hard to find. I love everything about his poems.
